Charles (Laqwanda), Christian S. Taplin-Hills (Kelvin), Charles Omar Taplin (Gabrielle), Anastasia K. Charles, Ashley T. Taplin, Christopher M. Taplin, Evan A. Antoine (Rachel), Maya L. Guilbeaux and John A. Guilbeaux, IV; his sister-in-law Ollie Charles; his nieces, Charmaine and Raichelle; his sister-cousin Ellar Louise Lavine Arvie; and his goddaughter Emily Sam (Lionel). He is also survived by great-grandchildren, and a host of great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Saturday, April 12th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM. A celebration of life was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Mohorn Baptist Church (219 Cosay Rd, Opelousas, LA 70570-0956). The military honors was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 from 12:45 PM to 1:00 PM at the Mohorn Baptist Cemetery.
