She is survived by: her children, Eric Chavis, Ron Christopher Chavis (Jada), Norman Dwayne Chavis of Honolulu, Hawaii, Ann Karyn Chavis-Harris (Antonio) of Washington, LA and Lisa R. Chavis of Prairie Laurent, LA; her sister Mildred Lemelle of Opelousas, LA; her brother-in-law Charles Larry Chavis (Jeanne) of Prairie Laurent, LA; and her godchildren, James Alvin Auzenne, Francisco Darjean, Kay McLendon, Keith G. Lastrapes and Diane Signator. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
