He was predeceased by: his wife Annie Mae Sostand; his parents, Alfred Sostand and Fannie Lemon Sostand; and his siblings, Willie Sostand, Clavon Sostand, Sr., Alfred Sostand, Jr., Pearl Jack, Gussie White, Doretha Tyler of Verdi's Smoke and Willia Mae Sostand.

He is survived by: his children, Raymond Sostand, Jr. (Antoinette), Larry Sostand (Debra), Joseph Kennedy Sostand (Lisa), Anthony Troy Sostand (Vanessa), Maggie King, Terry Lynn Mallet and Juanita Romar (Gerald); and his sister Josephine Joseph. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 from 8:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Little Zion Baptist Church (832 E North St, Opelousas, LA 70570). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the same location.
