It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Perry James Rideau (Opelousas, Louisiana), born in Lafayette, Louisiana, who passed away on November 9, 2024, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Rideau and Julia Labrie Rideau; his godfather Wydell Daniel; his parents-in-law, Willie Blossom and Hilda Edwards Blossom; his godchild Shenada Rideau Davis; and his great-nephew Christopher James Rideau.
He is survived by: his wife Ethel Louise Blossom Rideau; his sons, Dr. Desmond Earl Rideau (Deondranique) of Rideau Settlement and Julian Perron Rideau (Ivy) of Rideau Settlement; his siblings, Thomas Rideau (Edna) of Rideau Settlement, Michael Rideau (Augusta) of Rideau Settlement, John Rideau (Betty) of Rideau Settlement, Warren Rideau (Judy) of Rideau Settlement and Joyce Metoyer (Wayne) of Bossier City; his godmother Dorothy Collins of California; his daughter Alicia Bowman of Opelousas; and his granddaughter Vivica Bowman of Opelousas. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (103 Lebeau Church Rd, Washington, LA 70589). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, all donations can be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or Project Hope.
