In the sacred silence of farewell, Octavia is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. And as her memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Octavia's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
She was predeceased by: her husband Clemon Thomas; her parents, Alexson Slaughter and Victoria Joseph Slaughter; and her brother Alton Adams. She is survived by: her son Matthew Chapman, Jr. of Mamou, LA; her brother Carlton Slaughter of Vidrine, LA; her granddaughters, Markeisha Leday and Jakia Joseph; and her great grandchildren, Traylon, Ellieanna and Shialoh.
