She was predeceased by: her husband Emery Joseph Fontenot; her parents, Elliot Bertrand and Marie Godeau Bertrand; and her siblings, Larry Thibodeaux and Loretta Vicknair.
She is survived by: her stepchildren, Vernal Fontenot (Connie) of Opelousas, Kenneth Fontenot of Opelousas, Ricky Fontenot of Opelousas, Deborah Lambert (Joe), Marie Fontenot of St. Martinville and Darlene Hoffman (Kenneth) of Baton Rouge; and her brother Terry Thibodeaux of Opelousas. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
