It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nettie Gremillion Hansen (Opelousas, Louisiana), who passed away on April 8, 2020, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her father Joseph Gremillion; her husband Nels Albert Hansen Jr.; her mother Nettie Emelie Gremillion; and her brothers, Valerien Felix (Beryl), William Nelson (Loucille), Monsignor Joseph Benjamin Jr., John Berchman (Lucretia) and Reginald Maurice Gremillion (Lera).
She is survived by: her children, Faye, Jeanie Hansen of Baton Rouge, Nels Hansen (Frances) of Huntsville, Eric Hansen (Sissy) of New Orleans, Scott Hansen of New Orleans and Opelousas; her grandchildren, Sullie Stephens (Mason) of Austin, TX and Hannah Hansen of Denton, TX.; her great grandchild Nicholas of Austin, TX; and also, Pete Janes and Opelousas.
A funeral mass and celebration of life will be held at a later date due to current COVID-19 gathering restrictions.
In lieu of flowers, the Hansen family suggests memorials may be made in Faye's name to the Opelousas Catholic School and the St. Landry Catholic Church.
