He was predeceased by: his wife Helen Marcel; his parents, Maurice Marcel and Josephine Marcel; and his siblings, Lawrence, Clarence, Bienvenue, Gilbert Marcel, Nola Fontenot and Emily Lastrapes.
He is survived by: his brother Sidney Marcel of Lafayette, LA; and his goddaughter Linda Lastrapes of Arnaudville, LA.
