It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mirtha Lee Espree of Opelousas, Louisiana, who passed away on September 30, 2024, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorsey Espree-Jones and Helen Espree-Jones; his siblings, Patsy Espree Bazile, Lionel Espree, Pervis Espree, Lawrence Espree, Sr. and Lester Espree; and also Ralph Jones.
He is survived by: his former wife Clara B. Espree of Lake Charles; his sons, Ronald Espree of Houston, TX and Kenneth Espree of Dallas, TX; his godmother Lillie Mae Haynes of Melville, LA; his grandchildren, Ronald Jacoby Espree of Lake Charles, LA, Tremon Perkins of Atlanta, GA, Dominique Espree of Lake Charles, LA, Jazmyn Espree of Houston, TX and Kenneth Wayne Espree, Jr. of Houston, TX; and his great grandchildren, Ronald Espree, Jr. of Lake Charles, LA, Reece Espree of Lake Charles, LA, Royce Guillory of Houston, Landon Thomas of Lake Charles, LA, Jahsir Nixon of Lake Charles and Kaia Nixon of Lake Charles.
Visitation was held on Saturday, October 12th 2024 from 8:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Williams Funeral Home - Opelousas (817 E South St, Opelousas, LA 70571). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, October 12th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the same location.
