Mary Ethel Huguet Landreneau Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Ethel Huguet Landreneau (Opelousas, Louisiana), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 10, 2025 at the age of 96. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Sidney Huguet and Aliza Stephens Huguet; her grandchildren, Momee, Justin Curry Landreneau, II (Courtney), Jeanne Landreneau Buller (Scott), Joseph Blair Landreneau (Christen), Jared Paul Landreneau (Katherine), Emily Brooke LaCombe (Shane), Sara Landreneau Kleinpeter, Lauren Landreneau Marino (Joseph), Robert Matthew Landreneau (Christina), Stephen Parnell Landreneau (Mackenzie), Natalie Gillis Binford (Matthew) and Jonathan Patrick Gillis; and her great grandchildren, Gabrielle Zito (Drew), Blake Landreneau, Hunter, Camille Buller, Jolee, Jadee Beth Fair, Benjamin Graham Kleinpeter, Liam, Ethan Landreneau, William, Joey Rose Marino, Caden Garcia, Austin Binford, Camille Landreneau, Emily, Chloe, Avery, Lucy and Heidi Landreneau.
She is survived by: her children, John Karl (Jo Ann), William Dwight (Pamela), David Guy (Connie), Charles Roy (Kary) and Julie Anne. She is also survived by her children, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, February 14th 2025 from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas (2845 S Union St, Opelousas, LA 70570). A rosary was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the same location. A memorial service was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the Washington Garden Club. A Mass was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (330 E Moundville St, Washington, LA 70589).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her honor to the following organizations: Washington Cemetery Foundation, St. Mary's Altar Society, Washington Garden Club, and Ethel Park.
