She was predeceased by: her husband Bobby G. Pitre; and her parents, Darbes Soileau and Gertie Fontenot. She is survived by: her children, Marty A. Pitre (Suzanne) of Opelousas, Debra A. Pitre Trahan of Opelousas and Angela K. Fa-Kouri (David) of Baton Rouge; her grandchildren, Crystal Andrus (Allen), Dr. Jason Trahan (Katie), Joshua Trahan (Kristen), Kaitlyn Chamberlain (Joseph), Madison McElroy (Dylan), Samuel Fa-Kouri, Declan Pitre, Teagan Pitre and Cargan Pitre; and her sisters, Mercedes "Dee" Deshotel (L. C.) of Pine Prairie and Brenda Fontenot (Earl) of Pine Prairie. She is also survived by fifteen great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 17th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Melancon Funeral Home (4708 I-49 Frontage Rd, Opelousas, LA 70570). A rosary was held on Thursday, October 17th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 17th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the St. Bridget Catholic Church (3933 LA-35, Opelousas, LA 70570).
