She was predeceased by: her parents, Calvin Pinkney and Adeline Pinkney Sr.; her siblings, Calvin Pinkney, Jr., Diana Ranton, Joyce McCoy and Lois Pinkney; her niece Sabrina Ranton; and her godson Alvin Pinkney, Jr..

She is survived by: her children, Jermaine Owens (Monica) of Opelousas, LA, Marshall Vallair Jr. of Houma, LA and Tasha Reid (Herbert) of Parkton, NC; her siblings, Larry Pinkney Sr. of Opelousas, LA, Alvin Pinkney, Sr. (Ophelia Josephine) of Opelousas, LA, Patrick Pinkney Sr. (Verda) of Opelousas, LA, Barbara Lazard (Andrew) of Opelousas, LA, Viola Cullivan (Terry) of Opelousas, LA and Shirley Colomb (Michael) of Lawtell, LA; her grandchildren, Rashun, Lauren, Trinity, Tiara, Jaylon, Lily, Javyn and Herbert IV; her great grandchild Jackson; her godchildren, Brandon, Tory and Calvin IV; her pet Paige; and her close friend Joseph Chenier. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
