Lenora Darbonne Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lenora Darbonne (Opelousas, Louisiana), who passed away on December 18, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Gene; her parents, Joseph Arthur Fontenot and Aline Cary Fontenot; her stepmother Laura Fontenot; her siblings, Anita Fae, Cary and J. A. Fontenot; and her siblings-in-law, Willie Mae, James C. Cole, Willie Pitre, Paul Creighton, Herman, Clement Noah Darbonne, Maurice and Hilliard Carriere.
She is survived by: her child LtCol Lisa Rackley; her sisters, Corinne Pitre and Lorraine Landry (Gary); her sisters-in-law, Gwen Fontenot and Jane Fontenot; and her caregivers, Linda Arceneaux, Donna Willis, Ashley Berard, Mary Stevenson, Leslie Babineaux, Saria Williams, Yolanda Winzer and Joyce Benoit. She is also survived by twenty-four grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren.
