She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Lemaire, Jr. and May Rose Hebert; her daughter Connie Moran; her son-in-law Shawn Mayer; her grandchildren, Seth Quirk and Holly Ann Ortego; and her brothers, Royley Lemaire, Frank Lemaire, Francis Lemaire and John Lemaire.
She is survived by: her husband Harold Joseph Ortego; her children, Ricky Ortego (Renee) of Eunice, Craig Ortego (Lisa) of Opelousas, Chris Saucier of Cankton, Neil Saucier (Paula) of Opelousas, Tammy Soileau of Opelousas and Donna Mayer of Carencro; her grandchildren, Timothy, Dustin, Cody, Tye, Christie, Matthew, Lillie, Lance, Ricky, Brandon, Caitlin, Jonathan, Tina, Blaire, Joshua, Christopher and Julia; her godchildren, Robert III, Laurisa and Sharron; and her siblings, Sally Lege of Abbeville, Laurance Boudreaux of River Ridge, Laura Stelly of Abbeville, Margaret Istre (Mike) of Mobile, AL, Michael Lemaire of New Orleans, Robert Lemaire, III (New Orleans) and Robert Broussard (Vicky) of Delcambre. She is also survived by twenty-one great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 at 8:30 AM at the Melancon Funeral Home (4708 I-49 Frontage Rd, Opelousas, LA 70570). A rosary will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church (2125 S Union St, Opelousas, LA 70570).
