He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Anna Ned Smith and Willie Smith, Sr.; his brother Herbert Viel; his nephew Justin Smith; his parents-in-law, Mary Jones and Willie Jones, Sr.; his brothers-in-law, Herman Lavergne and Willie K. Jones, Sr.; and his grandparents, Mary, Willie Ned, Evelina and Paul Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda Jones Smith of Opelousas, LA; his children, Jason Smith (Lana) of Opelousas, LA, Casey Smith of Opelousas, LA and Tiffany Smith; his siblings, Willie Smith, Jr. of Opelousas, LA, Norma Kay Stelly (Patrick) of Lafayette, LA, Sandra Smith of Opelousas, LA, Linda Dominick (Dalfred) of Church Point, LA and Mary Harrison (Herbert Lee) of Palmetto, LA.; and his brother-in-law Donald Jones of Opelousas, LA. He is also survived by grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends.
