She was predeceased by: her husband Leander J. "L. J." Lavergne, Sr.; her daughter Elaine Marie Lavergne; her granddaughter Kelley Richard; her parents, C. Wallace Richard, Sr. and Julia Comeaux Richard; her siblings, Desmond Richard and Glenda Gail Thibodeaux; and her son-in-law Adolph Carroll Richard.
She is survived by: her children, Leander J. "Joe" Lavergne, Jr. (Susan) of Lafayette, Julie Richard of Baton Rouge, Jill Lattier (Kenneth) of Opelousas, Jayne Falk (Thomas) of Lexington, SC and Jennifer Rockar (Richard) of Kingston, GA; her brother Charles W. Richard, Jr. (Linda) of Opelousas; her grandchildren, Leander J. "Lee" Lavergne III, Elaine Kimiyo "Kimi" Brown, Lauren Noelle Lavergne Wilson, Ross Patrick Moran, Rachel McKenzie Moran, Franklin Roy "Trey" Brown III, John Michael Lattier and Christopher Wayne Lattier; and her great grandchildren, Kirsten Mutrie, Harlee Richard, Julia Lavergne, Leander J. Lavergne IV, Thomas Wilson and Lily Wilson.
