It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph Lee Robert Sr. (Opelousas, Louisiana), who passed away on July 2, 2018, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Wallace Robert and Emma Richard Batiste; his stepfather Buster Batiste; his siblings, Lucius Robert, James Robert, Rudolph Batiste, Abner Batiste, Vivian Batiste, Ramona Robert, Gloria Janice, Elfa Brown and Octavia Jones; and his brothers-in-law, Mark Kimble, James Janice and Johnny Sanford.
He is survived by: his wife Ruby L. Valary-Robert of Opelousas, LA; his sons, Joseph L. Robert, Jr., Carlos Robert (Darcy), Deverick Robert, Jamal Robert (Maria), Cardell Robert, Scotty Robert (Shirley), Columbus Reed (Kelly) and Antonio Hill; his stepsons, Christopher Johnson, Jermaine Bell, Donald Cunningham, Jr., Brandon Keys, Brian Keys (Kayla) and Matthew Keys; his daughters, Arvadale Robert and Lakeisha Robert; his stepdaughter Rashonda Dean (Cornell); his daughter Gabriella Harris; and his siblings, John Batiste, Lucille Davis, Beverly Rubin, Eltra Sanford and Mary A. Batiste. He is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 18 step-grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
