He was predeceased by: his parents, Elijah Pickney and Ruby Leblanc Pickney; his sons, Darryl Pickens, Christopher Lazard and Brian Irving; and his siblings, Henry Charles Lewis, Earl Lewis, Jr., Larry Lewis, Ferdinand Lewis and Mildred Pickney Gibbs.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Richardson Pickens of Opelousas, LA; his children, Mark Irving of Opelousas, LA, Michael K. Irving (Tammie) of Opelousas, LA, Jude Irving (Tiffany) of Houston, TX, Debra Jackson (Henry) of Dallas, TX, Donna White Lewis of Opelousas, LA, Mona Irving of Opelousas, LA, Monette Irving Ford (Floyd) of Opelousas, LA and Sonja Pickens of Vallejo, CA; and his siblings, Anthony Pickney of Opelousas, LA, Paul Pickney of Opelousas, LA, Arthur Lewis (Mary) of Houston, TX, Ruby Petty of Opelousas, LA, Esther Jones of Opelousas, LA and Nell Johnson of Houston, TX. He is also survived by grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
