With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Johnny Amadie (Opelousas, Louisiana), who passed away on December 11, 2020 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Ruby Haskette Amadie; his daughter Ronita Amadie; his parents, Douglas Amaday and Elouise Thomas Amaday; and his siblings, Irvin Amaday, Gilbert Amaday, Nolton Amaday, Floyds Gums, Nara Lee Guidry, Alice Lou Jones, Lena Amadie and Mary Amadie.
He is survived by: his children, John Amadie (Mary) of Los Angeles, CA, Curtis Amadie of Los Angeles, CA, Cedric Amadie (Diana) of Houston, TX, Andre Robinson of Houston, TX, Elouise Price (Donald) of Houston, TX and Catherine Francis of Los Angeles, CA; and his siblings, Nervin Amadie of Lawtell, LA, Beulah Arclese of Opelousas, LA, Rosa Arclese of Opelousas, LA and Bertrice Handy of Houston, TX. He is also survived by twenty-one grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2020 from 9:00 a. m. to 11:45 a. m. at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home. ** Please be advised we will adhere to the safety measures and precautions provided by the state of Louisiana due to COVID-19.
