He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Smith and Mable Oakley Hicks; his granddaughter Dora Boudreaux; his siblings, Ronald Oakley, Robert Hicks, Lawrence Hicks, Anthony Hicks, Gladys Hicks Morris and Carol Oakley; and his siblings-in-law, Loney Allen and Georgia Hicks.
He is survived by: his son Joshua Lewis of Opelousas, LA; and his siblings, Raymond Hicks of Shreveport, LA, Hammond Hicks (Catherine) of Opelousas, LA, Donald Oakley (Delores) of Opelousas, LA, Willie Oakley of Opelousas, LA, Frankie Oakley of San Francisco, CA, Judy Rideau of Crosby, TX, Dorothy Hicks-Smith (Sylvester) of Opelousas, LA and Gracie Oakley Allen of Opelousas, LA. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation will be on Friday, July 24 from 8:00 a. m. to 9:45 a. m. at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home. ** Please be advised we will adhere to the safety measures and precautions provided by the state of Louisiana due to COVID-19.
