It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jo Ann Francis Merricks of Opelousas, Louisiana, who passed away on October 23, 2024, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Don Louis Francis, Sr. and Truemiller Thomas Francis; and her siblings, Louis Francis, Jr., Ivory Francis, Nathan Francis, Robert Charles Francis, Leanna Francis Shaw, Betty Mae Francis Ashford, Orellia Francis Hanchett and Elrose Francis Oliva.
She is survived by: her husband Clarence Merricks of Opelousas, LA; her son Juan Merricks (Rhonda) of Nashville, TN; her sisters, Laura Baker of Houston, TX and Stella Francis of Houston, TX; and her grandchildren, Jordan Merricks, Jenna Merricks and Jalen Merricks. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 from 8:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the Williams Funeral Home - Opelousas (817 E South St, Opelousas, LA 70571). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church (732 N Union St, Opelousas, LA 70570).
