It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jasper O'Neil Richard (Opelousas, Louisiana), who passed away on January 7, 2025, at the age of 33, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Marion Savoy Jr.; his great-grandparents, Wilson Oakley Sr., Beatrice Lewis and Willie Lewis Sr.; his grandparents, Marion Savoy Sr., Clifton Richard, Lillian Richard and Margie Pickney; his great-uncles, Wilson Oakley Jr. and Herbert Oakley; his great-aunt Mary Ann Oakley; his uncle Curley Richard Sr.; his aunt Debra Richard; his sister Shandrannia Aggison; and his nephew Coehn Savoy.
He is survived by: his mother Tracey Richard of Opelousas, Louisiana; his grandmother Josephine Savoy of Opelousas, Louisiana; his significant other Ambrea Cornelius of Opelousas, Louisiana; his children, Jasper Richard Jr. of Opelousas, Louisiana, Tru Ferguson of Opelousas, Louisiana, Jaidyn Henry of Opelousas, Louisiana, Legend Richard of Opelousas, Louisiana, Jase Richard of Opelousas, Louisiana and Aurelia Sam of Opelousas, Louisiana; his siblings, Kevin Richard, Terrek Batiste of Opelousas, Louisiana and LaSancheverez Savoy of Opelousas, Louisiana; and his godparents, Harold, Mary Alice Ned of Houston, Michael Landry and Shelia Metz of Opelousas. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 8:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Emmanuel Church of God in Christ (1716 W Landry St, Opelousas, LA 70570). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the same location.
