He is survived by: his wife Sue Turnmyre Elder of Opelousas; his children, Shawn Elder (Tina) of Opelousas and Michelle Elder Doran (Matthew) of Baton Rouge; his stepson Jason Spain of Opelousas; his sisters, Denise Duplechain of Port Barre and Mary Simon of Grand Coteau; and his grandchildren, Lane, Rose Elder, Michael, Maddie and Mason Doran.
