He is survived by: his children, James Ashley, Jr. (Elaine) of New Iberia, LA, Kenneth Ashley (Ann) of Galveston, TX, Ronald Ashley of Opelousas, LA, Joshua Ashley (Shanone) of Opelousas, LA, Jeremiah Ashley (Starla) of Opelousas, LA, Lisa Ann Orville (Kenneth) of Plaisance, LA and Jackaline Manuel (Darrell) of Opelousas, LA; his close friends, Lambress "Winky" Joubert of Opelousas, LA and Ted Green of Opelousas, LA; and his stepsons, Anthony Veal (Amanda) of Opelousas, LA, Lonnie Veal (Javon) of Washington, LA, Byron Veal of LeCompte, LA and Kevin Veal of LeCompte, LA. He is also survived by twenty-four grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; one great great grandchild.
