He is survived by: his wife Shirley Richard Tate; his children, Roger Tate (Rhonda), Rodney Tate (Melissa), Ira Michael Tate, Jr., Mary Gail Hebert, Glenda Fontenot (Jody) and Cynthia Pryor (Brett); his siblings, Wilson Tate, J. L. Tate, Nelson Tate (Randie), Louella Knott and Bertha Wilks (John); his grandchildren, Kevin (Amy), Mary Denise, Ronald, Jeremy Hebert, Jordan (Brandi), Christopher (Lainey), Phillip, Joel Tate, Elizabeth Keddie (Matthew), John Michael (Courtney), Daniel Fontenot, Bradley (Kellie Dupre), Nicholas, Jamie Tate, Luke, Paul and Sara Pryor; his great grandchildren, Kayleigh Hebert Crawford (Jordan), Sydney Hebert Oldham (Christian), Caiden, Carson Bellows, Dominic Tate, Parker Tate, Jacob, Adalyn, Allison Tate, Jack and Maverick Dupre; and his great great grandchild Killian Crawford. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
