He was predeceased by: his parents, Gertrude Helaire and Joseph Helaire; and his siblings, Dorothy Alexander and Robert Helaire. He is survived by: his wife Betty Mae Elair; his children, Ashlyn C. Elair, Nicholas C. Elair and Brandon Elair; his grandchildren, Rihanna J. Green, Markavian D. Walker, Jaceylnn J. Elair and MarQualyn D. Walker; and his siblings, Joseph Helaire Jr., Johnny Helaire (Patricia), Clarence Helaire, Clayton Helaire, Mary Jane Helaire, Bernadette Dugas (Joseph), Cleotile Landry (Joseph), Georgiana Helaire and Georgia Marie Landry (Marshall).
Visitation will be held Saturday, November 19, 2022, at Syrie Funeral Home from 12:00 p. m. until 2:00 p. m. All those in attendance must wear a mask or face covering.
