He was predeceased by: his former wife Hazel Woodson Richard; his parents, Perry Richard and Delphine Richard; and his siblings, Leroy Richard, Jules Richard, Dorothy Cormier and Terradene Thibodeaux.
He is survived by: his wife Christel Helmstetter Richard; his children, D. Rickey Richard (Kathy), Christine Richard (Timothy) and Caroline Bonin (Ricky); his sisters, Clara Young and Madgeline Lyons; and his grandchildren, Dustin Richard, Daniel Richard, Shelly Toussaint, Kristin Richard, Sarah Bonilla and Robert Howerter. He is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren.
