It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gregory Pitre (Opelousas, Louisiana), who passed away on December 21, 2020, at the age of 67, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Pitre and Florence White-Pitre; his siblings, Zenobia Taylor, Verdina Fontenot, Shirlene Thomas and Joseph Pitre; his siblings-in-law, Brenda Gardiner Winfield, John Merlyn Gardiner and Royal Gardiner Jr.; and his godson Derrick Gardiner.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra Marie of Grand Coteau, LA; his daughter Takiyah Z. Milton (William) of Grand Coteau, LA; his grandsons, Dataevius Milton, Mekhi Milton and Malik Milton of Grand Coteau, LA; his sisters, Dr. Merline Pitre of Houston, TX and Sandra Gail Taylor of Fort Washington; his siblings-in-law, Merrick Thomas of Lake Charles, LA, James Gardiner of Lake Charles, LA, Gary Gardiner of Grand Coteau, LA, Michael Gardiner of Grand Coteau, LA and Debra Gardiner Dugas of Grand Coteau, LA; his aunts, Yvonne M. Thomas of Opelousas, LA, Levonia Thomas (Joseph) of Opelousas, LA and Doris White of Opelousas, LA; his niece Chantelle Thomas-Smith of Lake Charles, LA; and his close friend Ignatius Allen of New York. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2020 from 9:00 a. m. to 10:30 a. m. at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home. ** Please be advised we will adhere to the safety measures and precautions provided by the state of Louisiana due to COVID-19.
