With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Gertrude Landry (Opelousas, Louisiana), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 10, 2025 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Paul Landry; her parents, John Taylor and Levertia Taylor; her son Paul R. Landry; her granddaughter Cierra Landry; and her siblings, Lawrence "LJ" Taylor, Charles "Boo" Taylor, Johnny "Pie" Taylor, Margie Landry, Sadie Henry and Johanna "Brownie" Boxie.
She is survived by: her children, John Landry (Brenda) of Church Point, LA, Jerome Landry (Janet) of Church Point, LA, Nicholas Landry (Jameah) of Sunset, LA, Lisette Johnson (Rickey) of Opelousas, LA, Alegra August (Jonathan) of Church Point, LA and Monica Landry of Church Point, LA; and her siblings, Larry Taylor (June) of Highland, CA and Sharon Aguillard (Maurice) of Kenner, LA.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 7:00 AM to 9:45 AM at the Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church (693 N Main St, Church Point, LA 70525). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
