He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Savoy and Loithy Savoy; his significant other Lois Rideau; his brother Kenneth Smith; and his stepchildren, Enola Thomas and Troy Thomas.
He is survived by: his children, Gerald Rideau (Beatrice) of Opelousas, LA, Brian Rideau (Dana) of Opelousas, LA and Kizzy Baker (Chris) of Opelousas, LA; and his sister Cynthia Marie Carriere of Church Point, LA. He is also survived by extended family members and friends.
