She was predeceased by: her husband Clifford Simms; her parents, Albert Ballard, Sr. and Lauvinia Ventress Ballard; her son Felton Simms; and her siblings, Clifford Ballard, Naomi Lott, Alberta Lewing, Signora Moore, Julia Milburn, Zenalia Moore, Norma Nash, Barbara Leonard, Jetta Mae Harris, Ora Joseph and Leatrice Boswell.
She is survived by: her daughter Mattie Simms-Lazard of Houston, TX; and her siblings, Albert Ballard Jr. of Lawrence, KS and Melba Kempt of New Orleans, LA. She is also survived by extended family members and friends.
