She was predeceased by: her parents, James Shaver and Rosalie Guillory Shaver; her son Stuart Bates (Angela); and her former husband James Bates. She is survived by: her children, Robert W. Bates (Jeanne) of Carlton, Steven K. Bates (Lynn) of New Iberia and Martha Annette Bates Bantin of Lafayette; and her brother Jim Shaver (Bonnie) of Opelousas, Eight. She is also survived by Eight Grandchildren, and Eleven Great Grandchildren.
