He is survived by: his children, Jerry Darby (Linda) of Eunice, Mitch Darby (Jennifer) of Lafayette and Cynthia Ortego (Gary) of Prairieville; his siblings, Felix Darby, Jr. (Marion) of Opelousas and Lois Darby Thibodeaux of Cankton; his grandchildren, Jill R. Wilson (John), Travis C. Ortego (Brandy), Katie L. Ortego, Nicholas John Darby and Lane Mitchell Darby; his great grandchildren, Ethan Drake Wilson, Samantha Wilson, Skylar Grace Ortego, Cameron Mitchell Ortego, Kallie Comardelle and Chase Comardelle; and his brother-in-law Ashton Thibodeaux.
