With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ellis Fontenot of Opelousas, Louisiana, who passed away on April 16, 2021 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his wife Velma Brown Fontenot; his siblings, Jimmy Roy Fontenot and Lola Pearl Fontenot Richard; and his parents, Lester Simon Fontenot and Theresa Chapman Fontenot.

He is survived by: his son Donald "Don" Fontenot (Millie Fontenot) of Grand Prairie; his sister Lola Mae Fontenot Webb of Lafayette; his grandson Dustin Keith Fontenot (Lacey Duplechain Fontenot) of Washington; and his great grandchildren, Kaitlynn Fontenot of Grand Prairie and Sophia Fontenot of Washington.
