He is survived by: his wife Betty Lou Deville Cormier; his children, Joseph Andrus Cormier, Sr. (Gay) of Elizabeth, Rose Cormier Fontenot (Vincent) of Basile, Pamela Helton (Buddy) of Opelousas and Carolyn Bordelon of Opelousas; and his grandchildren, Joseph A. Cormier, Jr. (Amy), Melissa Ann Menard (Wesley), Jacob John Cormier, Amanda Bailey Helton, Dillan J. Helton, Cassidy D. Hidalgo, Robert P. Hidalgo and Heather Venable. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
