He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Avie Richard, Sr. and Josephine Lalonde Richard; and his sister Mary Catherine Richard. He is survived by: his wife Laura Fontenot Richard of Opelousas; his children, Shaun Fontenot (Aida) of Biloxi, Mississippi, Kevin Richard (Krystal) of Opelousas, Susan Robin (Dustin) of Port Barre and Ashley Richard of Opelousas; and his siblings, Wayne Richard (Patti) of San Angelo, Texas, Joe Richard (Elaine) of Grand Prairie, Bobby Richard (Mary) of Opelousas, Jimmy Richard (Kim) of Opelousas and Kathy DiCapo (Paul) of Rosa. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, monetary donations in honor of Mr. Richard's memory can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
