He was predeceased by: his wife Delores Sam; his daughter Desiree Sam; his parents, Jeffery Sam and Elzina Sam; his sister Jennie Sam; and his sisters-in-law, Bernice Sam, Margaret Evans and Judith Ann Stephens.
He is survived by: his siblings, Freddie Sam of Houston, TX, Kerry Sam, Sr. of Opelousas, LA, Betty Jean Sam of Houston, TX and Lawrence Sam of San Jose, CA; his sisters-in-law, Betty Sam of Opelousas, LA, Marina Sam of San Jose, CA, Rosea Mae Phillips of Brentwood, CA, Mary Jane Stephens and Carolyn Marie Stephens of San Francisco, CA; and his friend Elthia Batiste of Opelousas, LA. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
