He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles H. Heintz Sr. and Margaret Westwater Heintz; and his brother Robert Heintz of New Orleans. He is survived by: his wife Martha Callahan (Marty) of Opelousas; his son Joseph C. Heintz; his daughter-in-law Melanie Prudhomme Heintz of Lafayette; his daughter Kathleen Pool; his son-in-law Michael E. Pool of Lafayette; his siblings, Charles H. Heintz, Jr. of Gretna, Edward M. Heintz of Stonewall, LA and Mary C. Pauratore of Covington; and also, Elizabeth of Lafayette, Michael of Lafayette, Andrew Heintz of Lafayette and William Pool of Lafayette.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Coach's name to the Opelousas Catholic Tuition Assistance Fund.
