We are sad to announce that on October 5, 2023, at the age of 75, Chris Dunbar (Opelousas, Louisiana) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Preston and Cecelia Daigle Dunbar; and his sisters, Ann Dunbar Purser (Cotton) and Melinda Dunbar Giardina (Ralph). He is survived by: his wife Verna Carriere Dunbar of Opelousas; his children, Christopher Stephen Dunbar (Sarah Boudreaux Dunbar) of Youngsville and Sarah Dunbar Murphy (Casey Murphy) of New Orleans; his sister Carolyne Dunbar DeJean (Felix A. DeJean III); and his grandchildren, Preston Dunbar, Morrison Dunbar, Drew Murphy and Simone Murphy.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to any charity of your choice.
