She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Ganson and Mamie Leger Ganson; her husband Gilbert Sonnier; her siblings, Jack Ganson, Oscar Ganson, L. E. Ganson and Clara Moore; and her son-in-law Peter Lafleur.
She is survived by: her daughters, Sheila Babineaux (Jerry), Jackie Lafleur (Jarvis Gonzales) and Angela Pitre; her brother Leonard Ganson (Joan); her grandchildren, Elizabeth Ashley Fontenot, Joshua Romero (Mindy), Deborah Race (Jonathan), Jacob Lafleur (Paige), Megan Grimmett and Jarryd Pitre (Samantha); and her great grandchildren, Harli Shea Hendrickson, Gavin Thibodeaux, Emma Thibodeaux, Wyatt Adams, Corbin Sylvester, Aubrey Race, Tucker Race, Cylas Grimmett, Lucas Race, Piper Romero and Gretchen Pitre.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 11th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home (2845 S Union St, Opelousas, LA 70570). A graveside service was held on Tuesday, March 11th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Bertrand Cemetery.
