With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Berton Fontenot of Opelousas, Louisiana, who passed away on January 8, 2021 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Walton Fontenot and Clammy Fontenot; and his son-in-law James Larry Foret. He is survived by: his wife Annie Janice Fontenot of Opelousas; his children, Timothy Louis Bernard (Karla) of Plaisance, Becky Ortego (Skipper) of Opelousas, Donna Bernard of Slidell and Cynthia Foret of Opelousas; and his grandchildren, Janice Guidry (Gerard), Hollie Stagg (Scott), Celia Drury (Tim), Nicholas Foret, Chris Ortego (Heather), TJ Bernard (Gretchen) and William Higginbotham (Rebecca). He is also survived by thirteen great- grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
