It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Audrey Mae Chavis (Opelousas, Louisiana), who passed away on August 15, 2021, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Elder Joseph Bernard Chavis; her parents, Eleanor Davis and Freddie Davis; her granddaughter Crystal Janay Chavis; and her siblings, Eddie Lee Davis, Leana Mae Davis and Emma Lee Comeaux.
She is survived by: her children, David Craig Chavis (Gwen Denise) of Bogalusa, LA, James Troy Chavis (Jenni) of Mechanicsburg, PA and Melissa Ann Chavis-Landry (Michael) of Opelousas, LA; and her siblings, Percy Davis (Glenda) of Portland, OR, Velma Lee Brown of Richmond, TX, Bernice Tyler of Lafayette, LA and Jeanetta Thomas (John) of Shreveport, LA. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
