He was predeceased by: his parents, A. B. Reed, Jr. and Kathleen Dupont Reed; his grandparents, A. B. Reed, Sr., Marie Cahanin Reed, Ernest A. Dupont, Jr. and Emma Bergeron Dupont; and his brother Joseph Reed.
He is survived by: his siblings, Brent Reed (Susan), Nell Dye (Roddy), Judy Courville (Alan) and Madelyn Reed Comeaux; and his nieces and nephews, Ben Dye, Andy Dye, Alayna Dye, Lauren Dye Rogers, Aaron Reed, Sarah Courville Meche, Amanda Courville Meche, Jessica Courville, Kristen Courville Pavy, A. J. Courville, Matthew Courville, Christopher Comeaux and Casey Comeaux. He is also survived by 25 great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Skip Montet Chapel at LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas (2845 S Union St, Opelousas, LA 70570). A rosary was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Skip Montet Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home (2845 S Union St, Opelousas, LA 70570). A Mass was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the St. Landry Catholic Church (1020 N Main St, Opelousas, LA 70570). A burial was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the St. Landry Catholic Church Cemetery (1020 N Main St, Opelousas, LA 70570).
