She was predeceased by: her parents, Alexander Manuel, Jr. and Elnora Brown Manuel; her grandson Isaiah Lamar Manuel; her siblings, Wylona Renee Manuel and Vincent Paul Manuel; and her nephew Eddie Ray Williams.
She is survived by: her husband Joseph Carl Simmons; her mother-in-law Betty Rubien; her daughter Carlpreshia Manuel (Edward); and her siblings, Clarence Manuel, Elnora Simien (Kevin), Betty Williams (Robert), Sandra Jackson, Angela Levier (Michael), Mary Fuselier (Dwain) and Barbara Leblanc (Zeke). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
