He is survived by: his daughters, Rebecca Richardson (Cody Richardson) of Atlanta, Georgia, Chasity Boutte of Lafayette and Casity Boutte of Lafayette; his stepchildren, Shameka Chevis (Walter Chevis) of Duson and Paul Prejean, Jr. of Sunset; and his siblings, Joseph Melancon (Robin Melancon) of Sunset, Priscilla Melancon, Lorraine Melancon (Eugene) and Ellen Lewis (Wilford Lewis). He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
