He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Willard Thames and Ira Evelyn Corbitt Thames; his wife Ruthy Terrell Thames; and his brother Willard Thames. He is survived by: his children, J. B. Thames, Glenda Jackson (Bruce) and Lynette Pennington (Chris); his grandchildren, Jhloe Thames, J. B. Thames, Aubrey Sanderson and Madelyn Sanderson; his great grandchildren, Camdon Chisley and Machaela Williams; and his nephew Hoopie Thames (Kim).
