He was predeceased by: his parents, Hilton Kennedy and Metta Mae Reeves Kennedy; his brother Dean Kennedy; his son Danny DeLane Kennedy; and his stepson Joseph Varnell.
He is survived by: his wife Rachel Kennedy; his sons, Donald Kennedy, Gavin Kennedy, Michael Kennedy and Isaac Cockrell; his stepson Johnny Atchinson; his daughters, Tosha Collins, Heather Kennedy, Lorie Cockrell, MaKayla Cockrell and Sarah Cockrell; his stepdaughter Ruby Atchinson; and his siblings, Jerry Kennedy and Karen Cunningham. He is also survived by six grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family asked donations be made to Riser Funeral Home at PO BOX 57, Columbia, La 71418 to help defray expenses of the cremation chosen by the family.
