It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Melissa Schaefer of Oakdale, Louisiana, who passed away on March 11, 2021, at the age of 58, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Elton Perkins and Fannie Perkins; and her father-in-law Don Schaefer. She is survived by: her husband Randy Schaefer; her sons, Brett Schaefer of Monticello and Brian Schaefer of Cleveland, Mississippi; her siblings, Jean Wright of Oakdale and Robert Perkins (Kay) of Oakdale; her nieces, Kim Wheeler of Tacoma, Washington, Crystal Wright of Tacoma, Washington, Nicole Strother of Lake Charles and Leah Lowe of Lake Charles; her cousin Charlotte Berzas; her mother-in-law Bobbie Schaefer; her brother Dennis; and her sister-in-law Sandy Jones.
