He was predeceased by: his parents, William Smith and Josephine Ebey Smith; and his siblings, Johnnie Lea Holsomback, Pauline Smith, Carl Smith, Billy Ray Smith and Garland Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Wanda Wheat Smith of Oakdale; his children, Eric Smith (Tina) of Elmer, Tina Smith Kennedy of Oakdale, Sheila Smith (William) of Welch, Tyrelle Barlow of Baton Rouge and Yvette Cullen of Baton Rouge; and his sister Peggy Smith Paul (Harris) of Ville Platte. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and one great grandchild.
