He was predeceased by: his parents, Brook Peden and Elmer Peden; his former wife Bernice Poe Peden; and his siblings, Norman Eugene Peden, Nelson Reed Peden, William Alexander Peden, Marian Maxine Barnette and Violet Maunice.
He is survived by: his wife Claudis Smith Peden of Clifton; his children, William R. Peden (Beth) of Missouri, James W. Peden (Judy) of Arkansas, Menna Kasandra Laster (Jeff) of North Carolina and Dustie Lovilia Dunaway (Michael) of Mississippi; his stepsons, Willie Monk (Delores) of Lacamp, Clyde A. Smith (Phoebe) of Clifton and Ricardo L. Smith of Clifton; and his sister Agather Undine Cook (Donald) of Mississippi. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; three step grandsons; six step granddaughters; five step great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
